There’s something especially sweet about knitting a sweater together — especially when it’s one as beloved as Love Note.

This winter, we’re inviting you to join us for the Love Note Knit-Along, a cozy, color-filled collaboration between Ewe Ewe Yarns and Magic Land Yarns, running from January 14 through Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026. The goal? To end the season with a finished sweater that feels like a love letter you can wear.

How This Knit-Along Came to Be!

This knit-along started the best way possible: around a table with friends.

I’m lucky to call Karen of Magic Land Yarns a friend through our local Sip + Stitch group here in Oceanside, California. One evening, as knitters tend to do, we started chatting about yarn, projects, and what might be fun to knit together next. Someone mentioned Love Note. Someone else mentioned mohair. And suddenly it all clicked.

What if we paired Ewe Ewe’s Fluffy Fingering with Magic Land’s Marvelous Mohair and knit this sweater together as a community?

The answer was an enthusiastic yes.

The Pattern: Love Note by Tin Can Knits

The sweater we’ll be knitting is Love Note, designed by Tin Can Knits — a true favorite in the knitting world. It’s incredibly popular on Ravelry for good reason:

• Elegant but approachable

• A beautiful lace yoke that looks special without being fussy

• Beautiful, wearable, and timeless!

I’ve knit Love Note myself before (using Fluffy Fingering with a different mohair – my notes and video are here), and it’s one of those sweaters I reach for again and again.

For this knit-along, both yarns are held together for the entire sweater, creating a fabric that’s soft, light, and gently haloed.

Yarn Amounts

For the Love Note Knit-Along, we recommend holding Fluffy Fingering from Ewe Ewe Yarns together with Marvelous Mohair from Magic Land Yarns for the entire sweater.

You will need the same yardage in each yarn for your chosen size.

Example:
If knitting the 44.5” finished chest, you will need 750 yards of Fluffy Fingering and 750 yards of Marvelous Mohair.

Yarn quantities are rounded up to ensure you have enough for your sweater.

Which Size Should I Knit?

Love Note is designed with positive ease, meaning the finished sweater is intended to fit a bit looser than your actual body measurement. Start by measuring your full bust, then choose a finished chest measurement that gives you 4–10 inches of positive ease, depending on how you want your sweater to feel.

If you enjoy a closer fit, lean toward the lower end of that range. If you love a relaxed, cozy sweater you can layer, choose a size with more ease. If you’re between sizes, many knitters enjoy sizing up when knitting with mohair for a softer, drapier fabric.

There’s no wrong choice — it’s all about how you want your Love Note to feel when you wear it.

• January 14 – February 14, 2026 — Knit together at a relaxed, joyful pace

• February 14, 2026 — Finish your Love Note sweater on Valentine’s Day 💗

Throughout the Love Note KAL, we’ll be sharing progress photos, color combinations, encouragement, and finished sweaters (or nearly finished — those count too). Wherever you are in the process is exactly where you’re meant to be.
