Why did I knit the Love Note sweater pattern?

The reasons were pretty simple. I love how it looks and I think it would be a great addition to my closet!

The Love Note sweater knitting pattern has been very popular in the knitting world since it debuted. The design features a circular yoke with beautiful open lacework stitches offset by a smooth and simple body and sleeves.

The pattern offers a wide range of sizes from infant to adult 5XL and includes options for two body lengths; cropped or regular.

Yarn choices to knit the Love Note sweater pattern

What yarn did I use to knit the Love Note?

I used 4 balls of Ewe Ewe Fluffy Fingering yarn which has 200 yards per ball. When I first read the pattern, I estimated that I’d need 4 skeins and I juuuust made it even adding a little extra length to the body.

What size Love Note sweater did I knit?

I knit the Adult M size listed in the pattern instructions with the 44.5 inch bust circumference. To give you an idea of the fit, I am 40" when measured around at the full bust while wearing a bra and and thin shirt.

This finished sweater has about 4-5” of positive ease making it a little roomy and giving it a nice loose drape.

Side note: "Positive ease" means that the sweater's finished measurements are larger than my actual measurements. By having a sweater larger than the body yields a shirt that is looser and not hugging too tightly. It's good to consider how loose you like to wear your clothes when choosing a size. I often measure a garment that I own and enjoy wearing to see what size it measures around the bust and that helps me determine which pattern size I should knit.

Did I make any modifications?

I knit an inch more of the body section because I am 5'11" so even with that extra inch I still have a cropped look.

Is there anything I’d do differently?

No! I can't wait to knit this sweater again. I've even purchased two more colors of mohair to work with Fluffy Fingering yarn.

Would I recommend the Love Note knitting pattern?

This is an absolute, YES! The instructions were easy to follow plus there are great tutorials on how to work the all the steps on the tincanknits website. The final sweater is comfortable and I know I will wear it a lot!
