Elizabeth and I realized that our birthdays are days apart and when we both turned THE BIG FOUR-OH we thought, what better way to celebrate this milestone than with a collaboration between Elizabeth Smith and Ewe Ewe Yarns!
Elizabeth designed Sporty Forty, a heart-shape-inspired shawl, with Ewe So Sporty Merino from Ewe Ewe Yarns. Her wonderful design skills are highlighted in this shawl with a simple garter stitch, surprising pops of color and an easy eyelet border edge.

This kit includes 4 skeins of Ewe So Sporty in total, 1 ball each of colors A & C and 2 balls B (the color shown in the center, in the specific color combination selected.
Want to make your own color combo? Simply choose your own palette of Ewe So Sporty merino yarn!
NOTE: This yarn kit includes only the yarn to make the Sporty Forty Shawl. Needles, pattern and notions are not included. Pattern purchased separately.

Yarn: Ewe Ewe Yarns, Ewe So Sporty, 145 yards per 50g skein, 100% merino wool superwash yarn, #2 sport weight
- Color A (Berry): 80 yds, 1 skein
- Color B (Cotton Candy), 180 yds, 2 skeins
- Color C (Saffron), 140 yds, 1 skein
Needles:
US 7/4.5 mm 24”/60 cm & 32”/80 cm circ needle or size needed to obtain gauge.
US 8/5 mm needle (any type), to be used during BO (or 1 needle size larger than that used to obtain gauge)
Supplies: Stitch markers, tapestry needle
Gauge: 20 sts & 48 rows = 4”/10 cm in Garter Stitch

I knit lots of hats and donate almost all of them and this is just easy to use with any kind of yarn!! I like having starting measurements and how tall to make them for different ages.
Easy to follow pattern and with thick ply wool, knit it in 2 days. Used mattress stitch to sew together, although not specified.

The colors are beautiful! My husband likes the blue, but I'm making the v next sweater for me.
I have used Ewe Ewe yarn for a long time. I don't know how many baby carseat blankets I have done but all have been out of Ewe Ewe. Since the yarn can be washed and dried in a machine it makes perfect baby blankets. It is also works up and is very soft.
