The Ghost Halloween Hat is a playful colorwork knit: a row of friendly ghosts worked in two-color stranded knitting against a darker background, finished with a big, squishy pom pom. It works up nicely on worsted weight yarn, so there's still time to have it on your head before the trick-or-treaters show up. 🍫
To make things easy, we've bundled the yarn and pattern for this project into one kit. No hunting down the right yarn amounts. Just pick your colors, add to cart, and knit.
Knitting the Black Licorice + Citrus Pop combo? That's my friend Nancy in the photo, knitting her hat at Sip + Stitch. She added a bonus row of Vanilla ghosts with an extra skein of Wooly Worsted. Mix and match to make it your own.

What's in the kit?
You'll get 3 skeins of Wooly Worsted (2 in the background color and 1 in the ghost color) plus the pattern as both a printed copy and a PDF. Needles, a stitch marker, a darning needle, and a 3" pom pom maker aren't included. They're listed above under "What you'll need."
I can't find my pattern. What should I do?
The PDF is emailed to you after checkout, so it's worth a quick look in your spam or promotions folder. If it still isn't there, email hello@eweewe.com with your order number and I'll send it right over. A printed copy is also packed in your kit.
Is this kit right for me?
This is a Level 2–3 project. If you've finished a few hats and are curious about two-color stranded knitting, this is a fun one to try, and the ghosts are friendly. If you get stuck, our Knitting Knowledge tutorials and the Secret Society of Knitters community are here to help, or you can email me.
Can I make the spider hat too?
The Ghosts + Widows pattern includes a black widow spider hat as well. The spider uses 1 skein of Black Licorice and 2 skeins of Vanilla in Wooly Worsted, so you'd add yarn to your order to knit both.
Will the colors look like the photo?
Screens vary, so a color can look a little different in person. If you're unsure about a combination, email me before you order and I'll help you choose.
Should I order extra yarn?
The kit has the amount of yarn the pattern calls for. Ghosts like company, though, so if you'd like a bonus row of them, add an extra skein of Wooly Worsted. Dye lots vary from batch to batch and I can't always match a specific lot later, so it's better to add it now.
How do I care for my finished hat?
My main recommendation is to soak your finished hat in Soak Wash or another wool wash and block it, because blocking is where the stitches bloom. The yarn is also machine washable (inside out in cool water) and can tumble dry low, so everyday care is easy. All of our yarns are 100% fine superwash merino wool from Australia, spun and dyed in Italy.
How soon will my order ship, and what does it cost?
I pack and ship orders within one business day, six days a week including Saturday mornings. They go out by USPS Ground Advantage from Oceanside, California, so delivery time depends on USPS and where you live. Shipping is free on US orders over $75 and $5 on smaller US orders, and you'll get a tracking email when your order is on its way.
Can I return my yarn?
Unused items in their original condition can be returned within 30 days of receiving them. Email hello@eweewe.com with your name and order number and I'll take care of you. If something arrives damaged or isn't what you ordered, let me know right away and I'll make it right.

The yarn is wonderful and customer service is top notch.
There will be knots in some skeins which is normal. I don't know if this will pill or not until it's knit into something but it's the nature of Merino to do so but that doesn't bother me. I only needed 3 skeins but the price was so good that I bought 5. It's super soft like you would expect and the proper thickness for a fingering sock weight. I split the skeins into (6) 56 to 58 gram skeins and dyed up 5. They took the dye nicely and I am pleased with my results. My yarn was packaged well/nicely and shipped VERY quickly and arrived at my doorstep safe and sound. I would purchase this again.
I ordered the baa bag bulky for my hat pattern, that I also bought from Eye eye yarns. I love this yarn !! It is so nice to work with. It is also soo soft!
